Give it up? As the son of a woman who watched her schoolfriends and neighbours locked in a barn and burnt alive in front of her, just because they were the ‘wrong’ race and/or religion, not raising my voice about the mass slaughter of innocent civilians is not something I am able to do.
The world maintained it did not know what was going on then, it cannot say the same this time, even though the media is actively ignoring it and certain governments are actively supporting it, financially and militarily.
Anyone who has a family, and kids, cannot just ignore what is happening to families, just like ours, in the name of ‘defending themselves’.
Anyway, my conscience is clear. I refuse to stand on the wrong side of history, and always will. Adios.
