How’s the new year treating you so far? I’ve had a head cold, done my back in shovelling snow, took a hot bath to ease the pain, passed out getting out of the bath and came to on the bathroom floor, burned two sick days already, got a massive cold sore under my nose from blowing it constantly and the dentist says I need a root canal.

Hectic start. Daughter and grandkids finally moved out and got settled in to their new house. Weekends so far mostly spent doing jobs in the house, off up later to fit a laminate floor in the hallway . Ours is dead quiet these days … too quiet. Like the peace sometimes but miss having them around.

2024 so far My sister went in for a routine operation came out with a lung infection My Dad who will be 80 in May has an operation later this month to remove cancer legions from his face The uncle i lost due to covid 4 years ago his wife has lost all her savings due to her son my cousin helping himself to the lot to feed his cocaine habit , she’s applied for equality release on her home and he’s spent that also on cocaine , he set up online banking for his mothers account . Only twelve days in and everything things going just great

Was unwell at the start so the Christmas/New Year break didn’t feel like one in many ways but not drinking and the early nights probably did me a world of good. Trying to carry on with getting better and longer sleep. In bed at 10 last night and can feel the benefits today. Good job as work is back to being the relentless, wild ride to Stressville it was in ’23. Kids are well. Mrs too. Betty’s settled in at our kid’s. Things could be a lot worse.
