Bryan Mclean the unknown songsmith from Love , only two of his classic songs made Forever Changes in 1967 , alone again or and , old man , Barber John is taken from Brian’s album “if you believe in” recorded between 1966 and 67 and is what could of been the next Love album or even songs that could of made Forever Changes , needless to say once Forever Changes was released Bryan Mclean left Love and Arthur Lee acrimoniously , it’s a known fact that Arthur Lee was a bully within the band

I like his voice - not quiet falsetto but interesting and as ‘Alone Again’ is right up there for me I’m enjoying this - was unaware of him before this so thank you.

Has a whiff of Nick Drake about and that heady sixties mix of styles - what’s not to like.

I never got the love for Love. Not trying to be deliberately contrary, just don’t see what others do in them.
Same with this I’m afraid.
He’s as pitchy as hell throughout the song. That low note that he misses started to grate. As did the actual delivery of it all. And then there’s that ‘Ra-pa-pa-pam pa-pam’ stuff. Not one for me, but we’re a broad church here.
Speaking of church. As part of an interesting back story, it seems he found God and then died on Christmas Day. There’s irony for you……

I can’t listen to stuff like this. That voice and the pronunciation gets on my wick.
I used to be really be into Forever Changes, I still think the tour with the strings and brass was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to but Lee’s singing (on the album) gets on my tits a bit too these days.
