Retrospective of Peter Mitchell’s photography. 49 years after his first exhibition in the same place.

Featuring pictures he took in Leeds, London and Sheffield during the last 50 years. There’s a whole room dedicated to the photos he took of the demolition of Quarry Hill flats.

Apparently a normal fella who drove a lorry for a living but whose hobby was photography and he used to take his camera along with him, then take photos as he saw fit.

Some blinding photos capturing the above cities in bygone times.

Odd_Job I wish I'd have had a camera when I used to tramp the streets of south Leeds for looking old motorbike bits in the late 70s or of the boozers down there with the wizened old rummy gadgers, or the closing time punchups, or late evening wife batterings or the unsolicited random random acts of violence in the taxi rank where the black and whites were scarcer than yer average haley's comet passing. There'd have been some cracking images.
