I challenge anyone to make a list of what they want the next government to do and then compare it to manifestos and election promises.

It's fucking eye opening. The Tories no longer represent Tories and Labour no longer represents Labour. Both know they have a core that will vote for them if they pinned their rosette to a pig and they are both pitching to undecided voters - not the brightest of groups. Policy for both parties is therefore directed by the gullible and pliable.

Ken_Lobster I've had no issues with the NHS for the physical stuff - apart from them leaving my mother in law on a trolley for four hours after she'd obviously had a stroke and then telling her they could only reverse it if she was seen within 4 hours, but we'll write that off as fucking covid lockdown madness.

But mental health? It's where the rest of the NHS raid for funds and it's been this way for the last 40 years.

Foxy_Dread massive Labour majority. I want the Tories destroyed. Fewer seats than the Lib Dems. Humiliated. I want the myths of economic competence, of strong and stable government and of patriotism to be banished to history.
That's the emotional side of it.
But there's a practical one too. Labour are inheriting a car crash. Nothing works properly. Almost every organ of the state has been asset-stripped and starved of funding for over a decade.
The Tories know this. That's why so many of them are bailing out early. But they'll be back. They'll come out from under their stones in 5 years time. Labour won't have been able to achieve as much as they would like. So as big a majority as is possible makes retaining power for a second term more likely.

From initial diagnosis to operation was 4 weeks.
The doctors and Nurses were superb .
That’s my only recent experience of the NHS .
I was very impressed .
This was in Notts

Labour went into it's last time in office with this same "The Tories have broken everything", despite economic markers to the opposite in 1997. As far as I can think off, nothing that the Tories had supposedly fixed got sorted out. Just carried on blaming it on the Tories. Nowt changed since then. Same game plan.

I pointed out that the current Labour party were not giving any details as to what they were going to do and how they were going to do it beyond "magic wand" politics. You answered this by listing historical things that really had nothing to do with my question or my point. I did not respond to it as there was really nothing to respond to as it had no connection to the current topic and to reiterate, my magic wand comment was made before this list was written.

And I'm looking forward to seeing the manifesto. While we're waiting why don't you list the things that you think Labour should be addressing. We can compare when it arrives. I'm sure your vision of a socialist future is every bit as wonderous as mine.

Farage and his American mates are playing their cards with a view to shifting the Tories further to the right after the election. I predict a post election Tory party headed by Johnson and Farage, with Truss quite senior. All ready and waiting for a Labour fuck up. Johnson will be set up for the first winnable by election.

A lot rests on Starmers shoulders.
