I think international football can be as dull or exciting as the players & manager choose it to be. That's why Brazil '82 still stirs my heart.
Take Walker for example. He's either being told by the manager to knock everything short to feet around the half way line and want it back short to feet around or the half way line, or he's taken it upon himself to do that. Domestically, against much better players, he's happy to knock it and run or play a one two and motor down the channel.
Playing with a lone, immobile CF with no width and taking the safe option on every pass leads to what we are currently watching.
As a whole international football is destroying itself, whilst a european/global club super league waits happily in the wings.
