Odd_Job I think Gareth Southgate resigning is the right decision for both England and him. But he’s leaving England and the set-up in an infinitely better place than the situation he inherited. I think the media and the BBC pundits in particular, behaviour distasteful. None have bettered his international record as either player or manager, yet seem to have been on a mission to undermine him throughout. Who needs enemies when you got ex colleagues and team mates like those…
This 100%
Delusions of grandeur from the press, ex pros, the public ... that imply he's failed.
The only thing you could question, and its all opinions, would be him sticking with Kane and Foden.
Kane you could argue that even not fit is more of a threat than Watkins or Toney , I'd tend to agree.
Foden looked poor throughout and Palmer should probably have edged him out.
Doesn't help with the press touting the England players as world beaters and the transfer fees they command, that leads people to believe winning is inevitable.
Take, Gallagher as good and honest player he is probably more expensive than Ruiz, Olmo or Zubimenda ... and nowhere near as technically good as any of them.
Anyway ... my vote for England is Jesse Marsch 😇
