Forest the highest ranked team left in the competition - I'd love to win it. Be interesting to see what team Nuno sends out on Tuesday against a shit team in the fourth div. who have not won since boxing day.

There much less investor value in the FA Cup. Sustained spells in the top division begin to give returns. FA Cup income is negligible. Unless the team wins it or at least reaches the final it’s not going to grow the brand, either.

I'm thinking like MAC (I think) in that Piroe is our top scorer and DF like JM brought him on in a game no-one was bothered about. Rodrigo came on against AS, got injured and was out for months and we got relegated. What could have happened if Piroe (our top scorer with no replacement IMO) had got injured against Millwall - a game no-one was bothered about and we were losing. Promotion unlikely if that did happen IMO.

Placid is there a chicken and egg situation here? Clubs show no regard for the FA Cup so fans lose interest and that's seen as a justification for the clubs acting shoddily.

Foxy_Dread No replays, fluctuating final k.o times, no neutral venues for semis (schlep to Wembley) hasn't helped. An absolute premier product that they've managed to shit on from a great height.

Despite Town's abysmal record in the early rounds, you do still feel that excitement of a potential clash with a 'big' club. The chance of a visit to a big ground etc. The fact that the eldest and I have only managed the heady heights of Morecombe shouldn't take the gloss off it all.

In the earlier rounds, the lower semi pro sides are doing it for a few extra quid, the catchet of saying “I scored/played in the FA Cup”. The clubs love it for extra income and everyone in the 6/7 games prior to EFL teams coming in dreams od playing at a big club on tv.

My whole perspective has changed. It feels more real watching Garforth vs Heaton & Stannington. Than Reading vs Burnley. Who cares about that? Not even those clubs or fans give a shit really. Thats the reality

I'd have loved to have won the FA Cup.

We've got 5 PL games across 15 days (Everton / Wolves / Villa / The Cheats / Newcastle), and I do feel that we underplayed that game by using that squad.

The biggest thing you can win in football is the quadruple, and no English team has won it. Ever. That tells you how hard it is.

The hierarchy is the League, the European Cup and the FA Cup (aka 'The Treble'). Adding in The League Cup makes it the quadruple.

The cheats say they've won the quadruple, but they substitute The European Cup with The Charity Shield (which is in effect a meaningless friendly). The Spanish Pulis at Arsenal famously said "“We won the Charity Shield twice, no? So we’ve won three trophies.”

The FA Cup matters, it is a key component in winning something that no team ever has before.
