The Damn Yankee, later Head for the Border, was a favourite for tea after a mid week on call session. You did a normal 9-5 day, followed by on call 5pm - 9am, quick shower, then 9-5 again. No WTD back then. Remember after one particularly horrific night - two horrible obstetric cases and a disecting aortic aneurysm in A/E - I fell asleep in me chilli!
The eldest has fond memories of Ikes for birthday treats.
