king_of_the_slums Dad appearing in Yorkshire TV’s adaptation of Dick Francis’ Racing Game (1979), shot at Willy Hills HQ which was on Wellington Street in Leeds. My Dad was Area Manager for the N.East at the time but he got in on the action writing up the odds for a race as an Odds Lad. A job that I would do later on in life at Ladbrokes in Meanwood.

90Piesanhour Plymouth ’82/83. Kajagoogooagogo. T’was actually a mohican growing out, but, you know… Our band was called Glee Club and the lad second from the right was the drummer. Our quirk was the Hawaiian shirts and coming on stage to the Joe 90 theme. We lasted a few months before the drummer announced he wanted to have a mic so he could shout ‘bellend’ and ‘jap’s eye’ in between the songs. We split up some time later.
