Djpekingman Have you seen the film? They are excellent and so is it.
It certainly is.
I cant put my finger on them, their live show is brillant, a multimedia senses attack. I love how they use technology and fuse it with traditional Irish imagery, horses, gaelic patterns, hurly sticks etc.. really clever and creative stuff.
Musically they rap in Englsh and Irish and poke fun at the troubles and the communities. Ultimately the music is well listenable, funky beats, techno, hip hop with a bit of Irish music thrown in (but not often).
One thing that bothers me is that in the film, they were all really good as actors. I reckon that they were probably actors first and then got into the music thing second. There’s some money behind them, that film didnt look cheap and shipping an NI Police Landrover over to US to use it as a promo at Sundance film festival must have cost a few quid.
Either way I think they’re a breath of fresh air. Good on em.
