It was a toss up between this or Sons of the Stage. however I seen that beady eye did a cover of SOTS so decided this from the World of Twist.
I don’t know why they were lumped in with the baggy scene as they sounded like nowt else at the time.
Anyway this version from the word takes me back to Friday nights getting back from the pub in time to watch what ever bands were on, not to see hufty and all that other shite that was on it.

Ogden died aged 44 , shame that.

I had this on a compilation tape my mate made for me. Also featured were Stereo MC’s, Gary Clail and Intastella, among others. This wasn’t the best track on the tape but it’s not terrible.

I really like the album Quality Street and it gets a regular airing in Chez Anchor.

I was considering a two word review of ‘oh dear’ but didn’t want to cheat those of you who hang on every word I type.

There was a lot of incidental noise and a bloke doing a Shaun Ryder impression, my two main observations.

It reminds me why I sought refuge in Jazz around this time.

Listened to it. Like a poor man’s mash up of the Mondays vs the Inspirals. More baggy than baggy. And not premier league baggy at that. More like The Wharfedale Triangle Sunday league.

It was alright, although the dancers were more interesting than the song, and the sound was terrible. It won’t live long in the memory, in fact, I’ve already forgotten it. Thanks for posting, though. Bit baggy.

I bought the album at the time but didn’t listen to it much. Marc Riley’s a big fan. I agree with above, more psychy than baggy by numbers. It’s a good track.

I spent about 5 or 6 years buying up albums by baggy bands. Some good bands back then. One I never managed to find My Jealous God .
