Morning Placid.
I did consider going for an obscure BSP B-side, but not right now. It’s bad enough being ‘Fanboy’ Don’t want to make things worse.
Anyroad, here’s another one where I’ll spare you all a long drawn-out preamble. However, it needs to be clearly stated up front, that The Sisters were a complete outlier in terms of my usual taste.
I WAS NEVER A GOTH. Didn’t have the necessary legs, lips, inclination and certainly not the hair. The music, apart from one or two rare exceptions, never did anything for me either, but this lot somehow seemed distinct. They genuinely didn’t take themselves seriously… Hmmm, ok, maybe Andy Taylor did; the rest of them just thought it was a laugh. And their favourite other band was Motörhead.
It’s another case of “Not their best track,” but I loved this single from the off. The shrieking madness of it; Craig’s fuzz bass; the bits of lyrics nicked from TS Eliot.
They became another band we spent far too long following around, but then most of us didn’t have anything else on, and it never really occurred to us not to. 1983-85. Good times.
