I know Jonathan Pearce went to the game as a Bristol City supporter, he's mentioned it a few times over the years. I remember the first game was on MOTD. A neighbour of ours said there was quite a bit of trouble after the game, which shocked her. It was a real upset at the time.

I went to the Bristol City game, about 47,000 there.

Another afternoon kick off was the Liverpool 4th round replay in 1972, that would have been the miners, as Ted Heath was the PM.

I was at the afternoon replay as a young kid, in the Lowfields, great angle on the Lorimer shot when he hit the inside of the post and the ball because of the spin on it somehow came straight back out. Vivid memory, and as others have said, it was considered a really big upset.
