He’s a fantastic talent. Another amazing musical creative from Sheffield. You have to hand it to that city it wipes the floor with Leeds in terms of great musical artists.

Ocean was gonna be one of my choices but thats cooked now.

Just had a listen - i was gonna say no but it kinda creeps into you - doesn't it.

I don't know anything about Richard hawley so not sure what to expect.

It's Ok isn't it - very much time and place. I doubt i'd pursue it as it is not really me.

If heard bit and pieces of this guy on 6 and I don't mind this. It's comforting. Bit of Leonard Cohen, bit of Frank, bit of Mel Torme, bit of Edwyn Collins, bit of Paul Quinn, bit of Scott Walker all in there. Not unpleasant at all. Must delve a little deeper.

Just being in The Longpigs gives you a lot of slack as far as I'm concerned. Their first album was brilliant. Hammered when it was released and still play it regularly now. In an age of track skipping, it's one you can put on and leave.
I've never really listened to his solo stuff and I should. Some artists can use great influences but fall short with their own efforts. They don't have the talent to create something from them. I'm looking at you Mr Gillespie. There's talent here.
I'm going to listen to more.

After watching that I was so moved I bought The Best Of which is very good save for one loud, somewhat abrasive tune that needs skipping over.
He’s one of those that you can remain unaware of in America. Maybe that’s a bit ironic given some of the obvious influences at work but that’s the way it is over here. Never heard The Longpigs.
