EEPW Grace is definitely in my top 10 albums of all time. Im not going to bother writing a long intro as i assume most of you lot will have this in your collection. his version of Hallelujah is a masterpiece as is Lilac wine. Thom Yorke described him as one of the biggest influences on his career and you can certainly hear that in this track. just superb
90Piesanhour I’ve never really got the Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake love-in. Don’t get me wrong, they’re okay, but nothing spectacular. I actually got bored once the singing got a bit waily in this track. I’ve heard plenty of songs by both artists and remain fairly unmoved. My son likes them both, though, so maybe he’s got better taste in music?! Thanks for posting.
EEPW 90Piesanhour I never got Nick Drake. Not even on my radar. (although i did meet his ex wife who lives in Vejer de la frontera near Cadiz, about 70 now but still a stunner , she rents an apartment from a friend of mine, ) However Buckley for me is right up there and if he had had not died so tragically so young he would have gone on to be one of the all time greats.
90Piesanhour EEPW Fair enough. Different strokes, etc. I’m still suffering from the fallout from Radar Love…😂🎶
space Anyways... This is a great track from a great album. I can certainly agree with the fact that sometimes Buckley can get a bit "waily" at the end of tracks and to be honest his producer should have faded out before those points on his recorded output.
EEPW 90Piesanhour it was a while ago i met her, i had assumed they were married because of the way she talked about him, but obviously not! she mentioned that they lived together for a number of years. i guess assuming makes an ASS out of U and ME!

Sophia Ryde? I think she was the nearest thing he had to a relationship with a woman but the rumour was they weren't physically intimate - I think Drake's sister once let slip that he died a virgin but later backtracked and said she didn't know if this was true or not. Sophia Ryde was certainly a close friend of his for years - up to his death.
Foxy_Dread That surprised me, on two counts. Firstly, I like it a good deal. Secondly, I'm somehow familiar with it. I think it's on the Australian racing channels playlist. If not it's a mystery why itt is so familiar.
EEPW space pretty sure that's her, she is (was) a talented Artist in her own right, its been about 10 years since i last saw her so its possible she might have passed by now. Lovely woman
Jon Just had a look for my copy and I can’t find it. I haven’t played it in years or even thought about him. He was part of that whole Sin-é scene that was in full swing when we arrived in New York. We never went, too much else going on, but I was aware of him and knew in passing another musician who played with him regularly, Mark Geary who was the barman in The Scratcher at the time, a wonderful chap who’s made some good records of his own. It must have been something to hear him in person in such a small setting. It probably does qualify as essential. I can recognise the talent and beauty in it without been head over heels about it.
Djpekingman I'm with Anchor and Pies on this one. I've never got the Buckley love-in. His tunes are nothing special and that fucking voice. If sour milk could sing (I use the word sing very loosely in this case), that is what it would sound like. Not for me I'm afraid.
Harvest I bought this album at the time. His voice was amazing. I think he'd have gone on to record great albums. Shit start in life with his dad fucking off, shit end to his life.
