Well that wasn't on the cards....
The lad decided to go to the cricket club for a net and to watch the seconds. Was quite nice to be back with the just the originals. Eldest and I went into town, something to eat. Had a chat with a Southend fan and his lad who'd travelled up on the train.
Decent starting eleven. Happy days.
And then they shipped six.
We're off to Woking away next week so not quite the end of the season. I'd like to think pride will mean we don't have a repeat of today.
Sadly, some of the exciting youngsters will be gone in the Summer. Will Harris has been on fire this season, 22 goals in the league so far. Another great finish today. He walked straight to the home fans at full time when others were shaking hands with the Southend players. Looked like a goodbye...

Looking at who'll come up and down. Newport for a new ground (results today mean Harrogate could still escape relegation).
Scarborough or Chester would be good from the National League North, Worthing from the South.
Another season nearly done.
