Love the raised arm from Damon once Bobby Womack starts singing. Add in half of The Clash, and also (the former) Mos Def - and the result is (well) overload, overload, overload...

Love the Gorillaz. This version has so much going for it, from the opening groove it's utterly infectious and that voice, Womack was surely one of the most underused and underrated ever. There's so much going on in this and the way it all fuses together is wonderful. Who'd a thunk some indie boy from Blur could come up with something like this. Fantastic choice.

I managed one line of Mos Def, caught a little bit of Albarn's shouting and then fast-forwarded to Bobby's bit. It's like 'The Poet' never happened. Even he couldn't save it.
Feels indulgent. Contrived. And, worst of all, completely soulless. Surprised at you Flan.

Bobby Womack. What an inspired choice to use him.. One of the greats in music. Any music.
As an aside. I went to see Womack + Womack ( Cecil + Linda ), at Brannigans in Leeds on a wet Monday night. They belted out Footsteps, Life is just a ball game, Love Wars etc, to about 10 people 😆. A surreal experience

Fine choice. Probably the best track off Plastic Beach, although Empire Ants and Glitter Freeze are also very good. Having said that, there are quite a few tracks by them I like better, and I think are really wonderful: DARE, a couple of dubby ones offthe first album, Aries with that Peter Hook bass etc.
Albarn is a seriously talented individual. Comes off as smug sometimes but he has a lot to be smug about

went to one of the 5 live performances of Demon days at Manchester opera house in 2005 with the original contributors including Mr ryder who appeared on stage half pissed (he was drinking what looked like orange juice but later admitted it was heavily spiked with Vodka0 He also tried 2 or 3 times to light a spliff but was thwarted by Roses Gabor who grabbed it out of his hands before he could spark up! We were sat in front of peter hook and as we got out of our seats to dance to dare.the attendants at the opera house who obviously were not used to people dancing tried in vein to get us to sit down. Mr hook at that point also stood up and told them to fuck off to rapturous applause at which point the whole place erupted into a mass of dancing. Super concert
