Harvest Tried to find one of the several curd tart threads we have on here, unsuccessfully. Just demolished one to satisfy a raging hunger. Hugely satisfying. I'm assuming they're a Yorkshire thing? Got to be.
90Piesanhour Harvest They are normally called Yorkshire curd tarts, which is a clue to their origin. They have a similar thing in Portugal, that people love, too. I’m not a fan of cold custard-type confectionery, so am not a lover of said tart.
cordshoes The inclusion of the Yellow Curd tarts in the 6 pack of assorted tarts in supermarkets has always baffled and infuriated me. Raspberry, Blackcurrant and Strawberry should be the choice.
cordshoes Harvest So not them rotten Lemon curd tart things in the selection of 6? If different, then I'll stand down. 😇
l.q.navarro. Pretty rare you get them now. Used to love them. A bakery in Guisely near the station did epic ones. Thatvwas the late 80s, early 90s though.
Raposa Harvest Magnificent! Lived in Ilkley for a couple of years and couldn’t walk past Betty’s without buying a couple. Practically addicted to the fucking things back then. Not had one for ages although the local Tesco has started selling those Portuguese pastel de nata’s which are also pretty moreish.
Djpekingman On a similar vein I remember Gale’s lemon curd, but there also used to be another nicer thing called Lemon Cheese. Can’t remember when I last saw that.
Anchor Djpekingman M&S do a Clementine curd. Fuck me. I'd just eat it by the finger full from the jar.
otis Anchor Djpekingman sorry Anchor sounds fucking awful Saying that I'm eating corned beef sarnies at the mo
YoungParisian_inExile Custard tart ... a culinary masterpiece. File alongside D. Addyman's pork pies.
Placid I went abroad somewhere and they had a curd tart, I got a bit excited and said to the wife bugger me its like me nannas Curd tart, she just looked at me with the usual disgust and irrelevance. Im sure they used clotted cream.
