AndreWeimaraner Last song: Dinosaur Jr - Freak Scene Link: J From J. Mascis to J. Spaceman as singer/guirarist. From one glorious noise to another. This came out in 1987, a year previous to Freak Scene, and still sounds fresh, albeit very Velvet Underground. Which is a good thing in my book.
Jon Not sure why I never paid much attention to them at the time but I’ve worked my way backwards from Spiritualized Ladies And Gentlemen and feel like I missed out on something good. Drone on, excellent choice.
Anchor Another band I've not given the time of day to. I have a friend who has been punting them my way of late so I'll go in.
Kevin_Stapleton This is decent but I prefer their louder stuff - Suicide or Revolution. By the way the bassist's memoir is one of the best music books I've read.
Misura Hmmm, one of those bands that never 'made it', not through misfortune or catastrophe, but because they weren't that good. After three songs on the trot of middling, lukewarm dirge, you've had enough of them.
Harvest 'Weren't that good' - Playing With Fire's got to be one of the best albums of the 80s surely.
Mega_Armageddon_Chickens YoungParisian_inExile There have been summer days when I have driven to and from work playing just that track over and over. Sorry Misura they were great.
