Modern Lovers-Roadrunner

Mega_Armageddon_Chickens

Blimey, finding a link to Foggy Notion was harder than I imagined so before it kills me within the next ten years in a scene straight out of Cloppa Castle I consulted AI.
It appears Lou came to a Elastica type settlement with the writers of Later for you Baby by the Solitaires.
Anyway not my sort of thing so it also said Foggy Notion was covered by the Modern Lovers.

Under-the-ground

This is a great song.
I was obsessed with the film radio on, which takes the name from the song.

A great song that makes you want to get in a car and hit the motorway. Great choice 10/10

Next to each other on one of my favourite running playlists:

Not their greatest song, though, in my opinion. That’s the dumb-as-fuck and utterly wonderful Pablo Picasso

Jon

One, two, three, four, five, six. An absolute classic. Produced by John Cale. Jonathan was a massive Velvets fan. A two chord wonder.

oneallanclarke Gun 👍

AndreWeimaraner

A classic. 👌

Anchor

A classic. Often touted as the first punk song.

Great pick.

Love this, definitely in my top ten somewhere. Never get bored of it. Don’t quite get on with his solo stuff though (apart from That Summer Feeling).
The Pistols did a great Roadrunner cover, Jones’ guitar sounds immense.

Jon

fulmine For years it was all I knew by him/them. I bought a Best of and never felt the need to go any further on account of 90% of it been pure shite but what does it really matter when you've touched greatness once already?

fulmine

Jon Yes, totally. Trying to think of other examples. Shake Some Action by the Flaming Groovies maybe (another top 10-er for me, but the rest of their stuff sounds like pub rock Merseybeat). There's a thread in this, I tell you. Or maybe there's a thread in subject matters that could be threads.

Harvest

Never get bored of hearing this.

white_dragon

Great track.

I was writing something deep and wanky but ah fuck it: what Harvest said. 👆
