Typical . Only something that has anything to with LUFC would be like that.

It was more than 100, it was more like 200 on the train regularly unless it was a special occasion. Problem was could never organse a piss up in a brewery. Haven't read the book, but if its 'in their own words' and honest then it should be about the laugh and scrapes rather than 'who did who'.

spencers now run by a well known lad from town who works on the trains , got sent some photos to me a while back that might be included in the book all black/white , recognised most and must admit wouldnt want my face in there , especially the one of a certain seacroft lad on the pitch at birmingham , i just hope all those in the photos were told of there inclusion before the launch of the book .

Fair enough. It would make a change if it was honest. The only one I have ever browsed through (cos face it every chapter is normally the same, just a different club is mentioned) in WH Smiths that was even close was the 'Guvnors'. The rest are just self seeking superheros who manage to have helpful editors. I can't believe the Zulu's book sold 22,000 copies.I am interested in the fact it charts the stuff from the 60's and try an understand how, if we were so full on (and at home we were), WTF happend in the late 70s going away from home? When we started going in 77-78 on the train, even the specials to places like Man City and Liverpool/Everton were lonely places. I guess time has a habit of blurring reality - like the 100,000 who saw the first sex pistols gig. In any event there needs to be a special mention for Unilever. Wonder what it would have been like without Persil tickets?

One in drag trying to pass them selves off as a family :lol:It wasn't easy following Leeds anywhere in the 70's, except Derby :lol:mind you it was dodgy there when they took you down that corrigated ally ,then the bricks came over .I saw many a busted head there

Ive read one of the westham ones and found it pretty dull to say the least. Never got a hiding from no one even if 12 of them were up against 300 rival fans, that sort of thing. Hasnt the bloke who wrote those books about westham got a stall outside upton park now selling that sort of stuff?

flicked thro' a copy in borders in leeds earlier today, 100's of copies stacked on the floor, nice pic of Grif and Angie would jhave bought a copy but the que was massive (at the tills, not for the book)
