When did everyone quit been a larger lout and turn into a real ale merchant? Can't stand all those bearded, checkshirted, scruff look Brooklynites who are into microbrews and fucking Animal Collective and think they're all so different looking exactly the same as one another.

There is something in the draft lager in England that gives me a hangover from hell. I don't get it the same way drinking lager abroad or from bitter or even Guinness. So I've gone on to bottles of ale or lager (if they do 500ml) - can't abide stuff warm - out the fridge in pubs that do them or a London pride extra cold if they don't. If I can somewhere that sells imported lager that hasn't been tampered with I drink it. If I have a pint of draft lager these days I can taste the chemicals in it.

Absolution - Abbeydalecracking honey coloured hoppy beer. Very clean taste. Only realised it's 5.5% when I stood up. Proper quaffable rocket fuel. Only £2.20 a pint in here too.

Had a few pints of Weetwood tonight. Looks like lager, tastes like beer. Recommended.

I like it, it's light and refreshing. Hard to tell that it's 6%.It describes itself as fruity with hints of vanilla and oak.Personally, I think it tastes more like beer, but there's definitely a touch of oakyness in there. I have got a cold though so I'm probably not the best person to give a review at the moment.

Today I don't want to drink beer.
