Case in point. Not the cheapest ale but I usually have/need just the one of this. Cracking flavour and bonus points for having the ABV to 3 decimal places. 10.276% to be precise.

Maybe it's just me but I prefer the old fashioned standard. I want consistency and freshness in a session bitter. Most of these "craft" ales taste off to me. I'll still to John's, Guinness and an Aspalls in the warmer months.

I think with the craft beers it is finding some you like and also maybe it is not stuff you'd drink all night. Like a sour for example - I enjoy a few but would not want ten of them, Likewise a ginger ale in the real ale world.

I love NEIPA's - they taste fresh and fruity to me, with the different yeast strain they use. I could drink that all night. However I am not a massive fan of DIPA's or Imperial IPA's - some can taste murky and dank - they are supposed to but that is not my thing. Some are Ok - Cloudwater do a nice DIPA as is that Thornbridge up there.

Horses for courses and all that.

I don't drink more than 2 or 3 large cans at one go these days. I reckon I drink the 'craft' stuff more slowly than say Landlord in the pub.
It's difficult to go wrong with breweries like Verdant or Northern Monk. I've grown a taste for hoppier stuff and, worringly, stronger DIPAs. Went through a period of drinking Gose and Sours all the time but agree you can't do too many of them.

£1.50 a can from a shop near my work. Its a discerning tramps paradise. All kinds of strong beers in there, not just your Speccy brew and Tennents Super. Its not posh but you know when you've had 4 cans of this.

TB - I also will usually only drink 3/4 of the 440ml cans. It is enough. The price pisses me off though - it is out of my league in the main. I can't be paying £6 a can - only maybe once a month to try a few from my local indie.

Tesco for me has been a god send.

What is Gose - is it a sour wheat beer?

Remember when this place was all TT Landlord and Shack.

Still love Landlord (and Shack). That Sharp's Atlantic is nice. Been having that a bit lately. It's in bottles though, not those diddy £2 cans that seem so popular.
