I watched it and fall into the know nothing about the tale and hadn't read the book camp. I generally accept inaccuracies being a part of any film based on historical events so try not to treat the film as fact. With that in mind I loved Jim Broadbent as the Derby chairman and some of the little silly details like ashtrays being put out in a dressing room. The one bit I found strangest of all, even more so given the comments I've read on here was the walking the last 100 yards to The Baseball Ground. They must be the only folk I know who'd have done that without being greeted by groups of Derby's welcoming committee emerging from every one of those side streets. Also, I am a bugger for spotting silly things in period dramas, like looking for satellite dishes in the background, light switches which weren't used until the 80s and the number of old folk on zimmers around Brighton, no one really had Zimmer frames out and about back then. It was spaz chariots or wheelchairs if you couldn't walk.

Thing that got me is just how brutal the Revie team was portrayed! Not doubting Leeds were physical, but Jesus some of those scenes would have been better placed in Rollerball!2 things stood out for me...Cloughs total obsession with all things Revie and his obvious failings without his sidekick,Taylor!Good watch though.Enjoyed the documentary afterwards too.

I've read the book and thought it very good.Watched the film with Mrs Dragon a while ago.At the end Mrs D says was'nt that Revie and Bremner horrible , then I had to explain for about an hour that they were the best thing since sliced bread. The film shows us in poor light.
