I'm still excited about Thomas Brolin signing.

The Skuhravy 'signing' was brilliant. It was all cloak and dagger, club refusing to confirm they were in talks with him, refused to confirm whether he'd come to England. A small media pack gathered in the West Stand car park.Still, Leeds said nothing. And then Tomas Skuhravy walked out onto the balcony by the Banqueting Suite, talking on one of those new fangled mobile phone things.. So, that rather gave the game away.Another hour of intensive waiting followed before Chairman Bill Fotherby appeared in reception, "Hi 'ave been in talks with the player.", he confirmed, "but there's nothing more Hi 'ave to tell you..". Reporter, "So the talks went well then Chairman?", "The talks went very well, Hi'm very 'appy with 'ow hit went but Hi can't say hanymore than that..". Reporter, "He'd be a great signing wouldn't he Bill?", "Oh, this boy? What ha player, fantastic player! But Hi can't say any more than that...". Reporter, "Are you confident you'll get it done?", "Hi am very 'opeful..".Skuhravy flew home shortly after, never to be seen again. 'Appy Days!

I always quite liked Silver and that. Different age, attitude, game etc.... jumpers for goalposts blah, blah, blah

Just remembered, Silver shook my hand at my degree ceremony.

Leslie Silver was a really nice chap. Just the sort of character you're unlikely to meet in a top division boardroom these days.Bill was and still is a great character. They were both real fans and they both lived in the city, so they were accountable for their actions. So, Bill had to put up with that "Fotherby Is A Liar" graffiti across the bridge on the inner ring road every time he drove back into town.

When you think about the times Silver went through, didn't he take over just after we got relegated? The place was mental back then every week. From the psycho cops, fans and bar staff to the neo Nazi paper sellers outside. And in the middle of it is an island of north Leeds self made fellas who had to fund that asylum.I mean why would you? It was hardly a networking opportunity was it or would bring great social standing in the community ? Mind you he got out with a few quid, but even so he can't have known that would happen.

I think Fotherby was a paid director. I agree with the points you make Reg and it has always been dirty. But the cash Silver was making from the paint business could have made a much better return elsewhere and for less risk than the club. I am not sure Leeds ever generated that much cash in the second div. Changed for sure when Wilko got us promoted but that 5 or 6 years beforehand must have been shite.

When Tomas Brolin left he called a press conference, which was quite unusual. He also paid for a table full of cakes for all those who attended, or maybe it was just the stuff he couldn't take back home with him...

On the rumours. Surely as Swindon want Sheehan we have a strong negotiating position for Paynter? Is he first team though? Really?John Eustace? Had a good season in Chmapionship, will be better with better players around him. Montgomery? That would be a nice coup from Blades as they really want to keep him. This McArther lad from Accies? Well he seesm to be well thought of. We need another striker. Hulse or Hooper?
