Djpekingman hendersonjones The similarities between the two are too great to be ignored. Whereas Ridsdale bet the family silver on ITV Digital money, Orta has bet on staying up after signing three managers and a mountain of players incapable of staying up
YoungParisian_inExile We should keep Meslier. Doesn't matter who's in nets if there's a shower of shit in front of you... Ayling , Kristensen, Wober, Struijk, Koch, Cooper, Firpo etc
Raposa YoungParisian_inExile You’re probably right but Meslier didn’t do himself any favours a lot of the times last season. There’s a decent keeper in there somewhere but back end of the season it was plain to see his confidence was shot. I think he needs a fresh start in pastures new so that he can realise the potential he’s shown from time to time.
EEPW Raposa Form is temporary class is permanent, Meislier looked World class under Bielsa and If we lose him he will go on to be another Schmeical. He is going to be world class. Just needs a competent defence in front of him to give him confidence
Raposa EEPW Never thought of him as world class and if he is I don’t see too many fighting for his signature. Only my humble but he had one good season when we came up. Then again so did many others. Decent shot stopper but a liability at times last season although I would agree the shite defence didn’t help. If he’s that good he’ll not be looking to play in the Championship anyway you’d have thought.
Djpekingman Raposa I can imagine there's not much fighting for his signature going on because everyone is waiting for hole in his contract to be exposed so they can pick him up for fuck all. It seems that most of those negotiated by Orta have gaping chasms in them in that respect, hence the loans and lack of incoming transfer money.
Raposa Just reading my own post back it perhaps comes across as a tad harsh , I should add that he’s single handedly won us games or got us a point. His performance at Liverpool last season was right out of the top drawer . Just think a move might be in everyone’s interest although nothing would please me more for him to stay and get back to the form he’s capable of.
YoungParisian_inExile Everyone’s waiting for us to sign a keeper who’s not as good as he is and then pick him up for fuck all. See Drameh who’s being kept out by Ayling. I’m all for keeping Ayling or Cooper as the old guard guiding the younger players but not if it’s going to make them leave
Chopper_Read YoungParisian_inExile Exactly. If the old guard are not prepared to play second fiddle then see ya!
Jon I’m lost with all this FFP talk. What’s the deal with parachute payments then? They’ve off loaded a big chunk of payroll and, we’re told, most players took a 50% hit on their wages. If they’re getting players in they’re leaving or uncomfortably late. It’s a long season but hitting the ground running is better than playing catch up, surely?
doggybag Seeing chatter that Leeds might be looking at Mason Holgate at Everton. Very strong midfielder/defender with a turn of speed but he's really aggressive. Bit of a loose cannon.
Odd_Job doggybag I’m all for us getting some aggressive players in, we lack bastard. How the fuck can you have the number of comprehensive beatings we’ve had in the last couple of seasons and in some of those games not even got a single booking.
Flaneur Most probably bullshit, but there's some chat on LFC fora regarding Tyler Adams and £20M release clause.
king_of_the_slums Flaneur That clause was always there, his agent always knew about it, but now it's news. Might have something to do with Ampadu coming in and doing more than okay.
Flaneur Raposa I think Nat Phillips will do well at Leeds. Maybe a bit rusty to start with, but he'll become a fans favourite, and possibly the captain.
Flaneur It's been 'chatted' about in relation to use not getting that Lavia from Southampton - Adams and somebody else for less that what Lavia costs. As I say, probably bullshit.
