not really disagreeing with you OY but the Collins transfer involved a fee. Daily Mail reported it was £500k so I would suspect closer to £50k but still, a fee was involved.

It has shown with previous loans that if it's a forward player, and not for the whole season, it doesn't work. We need them for a long period so we can play the right way to get the best from them.

Fair point...but still baffles me as to how any one even thinks we were in with a shout for these players!

Rumour elsewhere mate. It would make sense as Grayson knows what he is about. I didn't think he showed all he can and is a decent player, but a bit too similar to Becchio for me. We should be after someone with pace but where will we get one?

Actually SG is a very tough character, no nonsense, call 'a spade a spade' type bloke. I wouldn't liker to cross him. Therein I think lies the problem. I think he has the toughness, but not man-management skills in being able to deal with the variety of different personalities. One size does not fit all.

Keegan did this initially with Andy Cole at Newcastle and he was a disaster in front of goal. On advice, the next season, Keegan put his arm around him and took him under his wing as a 'favourite uncle' type character. I think Cole scored 49 goals in total that season, someting ridiculous.

Well it's pace we had with Beckford. Derbyshire is a better player than him. Plus Gradel has bags of pace.

We need to get left backs from Africa now. How shit are our academy graduates like Darville? Didn't we just buy a left back from Swansea? Aren't we still paying Sheehan's wages? Didn't Hughes play there when needed half of last season? How fucked is Ben Parker? Can't White, Johnson or Bromby play there if we need hem to?

There's a bit in the YEP today about Robinson not being able to find a club as no Championship club wants him and his wages are too high for League1. I suppose this is the same for Michalik, Sheehan and Trevor Candle.

Leeds United are at the top of the queue for Sunderland striker Martyn Waghorn.

Whites boss Simon Grayson wants to take the young striker on loan for the start of the season to see off competition from Hull City.

Waghorn wants regular game time which he is not getting at the Stadium of Light and Grayson is happy to have him at Elland Road as Leeds get set to compete in the Championship after gaining promotion from League One.

Question. Would we prefer an unproven young Premier League reserve striker on loan or a proven League1 striker out of contract and signed for two to three years?

Difficult one and obviously it depends on how good they are and we have no way of knowing how good they are in the Championship.

Rumours that it's Martin Waghorn, on loan from Sunland, except Bruce has said he wouldn't lend him out again.

I've no idea at all but this has been mentioned a few times this week, different sources.
