To be perfectly honest, the whole thing with football, in the higher echelons anyway, is a complete, money-oriented circus. Billionaire owners, millionaire players, wanky agents, ludicrous transfer fees, ludicrous wages, players throwing their toys out the pram over the slightest thing. There is virtually no connection to 'ordinary people' any more and the only way to get that connection is to support lower league teams. I, for one, feel myself drawn to the likes of Bradford Park Avenue or similar, but couldn't really go there as I know next to nothing about them nowadays. Me and my mates loved going to see their old ground on Horton Park Avenue when we were kids. Proper spooky stood at the top of a grass-covered stand, looking at what used to be the pitch. I'll always support Leeds, but I don't know what that form takes any more. Haven't been to a game for about 5 years, although I've tried getting tickets, and don't know if I'm supporting the history more than anything. The lack of interest shown by some of the players and the way the various owners have farted about is scandalous, but I can't, honestly, say I could 'support' another club. It just wouldn't feel right, so here I am, again. C'est la vie.
