Modern football seems to be stereotyping, and thus limiting the opportunities for different types of strikers. Imagine if Michael Owen is just starting out, he'd be playing winger, or retrained to be a central attacking midfielder like iniesta. When it comes to strikers, because most teams play only one now, everyone's looking for the shape of Lewandowski, drogba, haaland.
Of course change of coaches and philosophies and these guys are being asked to play different positions in different systems doesnt always bear fruit like what Bielsa did with Phillips.
Confidence levels dropped because they didnt do well, our club as a whole didnt do well. Gelhardt, greenwood, are at the age where they are not good enough to start in their natural position, but not good enough to start in their secondary positions either.
As a club i think we should stick by Farke, he's not a knobhead like Marsch. if he thinks the player wont help him, then let him go, even if he's a good player. You dont adapt tactics to players, certainly not at this level. unless the player is Messi.
So good luck to them.
