Chopper_Read I think they have to plan for both outcomes. Promoted, or not promoted at all. What's the budget gonna be like.

I think our market is, players that aren't quite (or no longer) established prem players, but too good to be in the championship. And like Bielsa's tenure, anyone that comes in needs be able to improve the squad immediately.

But since there's no 6 months rental type of deals, Its about building the squad for next season, as well as the immediate needs. And January transfer window tends to be a seller's market.

Will Joe Rodon sign if we're still in the championship next season? Cooper is probably not returning. As thing stands, Struijk and Cresswell are the only two senior centrebacks contracted for next season.

Are there any youngsters in the reserves ready for the first team? McGurk?

MDF pretty certain that even if we bought a one legged blind LB it would improve the bench over having 2 goalkeepers sat there getting wood splints

As far as I can see we’ve managed to get some dross out of the door and loaned out a couple who aren’t ready yet but will hopefully come back better players with some experience behind them.
Be nice to get one or two in today but no panic if we don’t.

The squad depth alone, is causing a bit of concern. Not even talking about quality. But after I read an article that Farke's team always does better in the 2nd half of the season, i become less worried than I was during Bielsa's times.

Of course there are six month loan deals out there. Loads goes on we don’t know about until it happens.

A player doesn’t have to go in the starting lineup to improve the team.

We are demonstrably weaker as a squad than we were at the the start of the season.

Planning for going up and staying down.

I think it’s shit or bust. Don’t see Rutter, Summerville and maybe Rondon at the club if we stay down. Byram will be capable of less games and, Arronson and Robothead to sort out.

I think we’ll get someone in, possibly just one but the 49ers don’t do their business in the media
