I assume we sign the contract and post-date it to July 1st or whatever date in that first week of July the new season starts from a PSR stance, and then execute the first payment after that date. I can't see that as being dodgy, it's not like he's playing. Also, the window is shut right now but teams are still signing players, meaning they're all probably doing this, post dated contracts. 49ers are probably checking with the lawyers on whether they can do a grand marketing splash and reveal video with the window being shut.
