He didn’t get many starts agreed.
But when he did he was average at best and I recall there weren’t too many complaints at the time when we let him go.
In fairness he’s come on but the market is stupidly inflated at the moment and you also wonder why none of the PL clubs are in for him if he’s all that.

His family then pushed for first team or a move, but he's white, a bit ginger and got a local accent, so we'll let him off for thinking he's "bigger than the club." If he was all that, he'd have got a Tarik move at 35m and gone to an Arsenal or PSG, instead he's off to the Brentford of the French league. Tarik has 1 season under his belt, at a relegation level Serie-A side, away from being an academy player, granted at Juve.

I'd totally agree with you that in terms of transfers both in and out we're fairly terrible though of late it seems like someone has their head screwed on for incomings.

He played a total of 313 minutes. That's less than 3 1/2 full games on the pitch. Fair go my arse.

14 total appearances. 5 starts, 9 substitute.
2 starts in the EFL Cup.
2 starts in the championship.
1 start in the PL.
Of the 9 substitute, five were less than 5 minutes and two were 1 minute.

I'm not saying he's the next Maldini, or even that he'd get in our side now. He wouldn't.
But he was frozen out unfairly by Farke, then pushed out by him and sold for a pittance.

I have zero inclination to go on about a past player any further, but of course he and his family ultimately pushed for a move. 313 minutes and no sign of change on the horizon! Who wouldn't.

And as for Farke being foreign being why he's called out in certain instances, behave, that's the biggest load of twaddle yet.

I have mentioned once or twice my consternation with Leeds' youth policy. I was very pleasantly surprised when a bunch got a kick during the friendlies. I wait to see if this is a dawning of a new, enlightened approach to homegrown talent or just another cynical carrot to keep the 'boys' happy for another season.

During the Orta era the club were only too ready and willing to hype any and all of the youngsters as shoe ins for the first team. Logically, this rarely happens with kids in significant numbers . One or two might kick on but most either fade away or end up playing lower league. I think some of us had a tendency to buy into that hype at times.
And then there are players who just don’t kick on at one club but have great careers elsewhere.
As for not getting a proper chance in the first team, shouldn’t anyone managing at the elite level be able to access whether or not a player he sees train everyday has what it takes to perform in the first team without actually putting him in there for a protracted length of time?
How good is the French league compared to the PL?

3 decent players in (Tarik, Trafford and the Welsh lad)
18m for Strujik is good business given his contract length

Mitaman Looking at this lad apparently, Jovon Makama, which makes sense, and fits the type, whilst lowers the 1st team age now we have spine of semi-seasoned (27) pros.
