SL I don't rate him in the two games he's played this season and I thought he was ordinary before he got injured, Maybe he's coming back from injury and he's really is the new Reaney which he'll show as gets more games, but if he plays next Wednesday we'll be fucked down that side even if Walcott doesn't play. He was over run before they made changes.

The lad from Sunderland was way better in my book.

See post above. I'm not on about two games, rather that he's carried from where he was before he got injured. Nice lad, steady L1, over matched so far. Maybe he'll get better, maybe not. Me, I'd rather we have someone there who's done a good job for us this season and not have to worry about it.

I don't particularly want the team set up to get embarrassed. You better believe Arse will have more first teamers out next game.

Very few, the rest rely on the fact he'll hoof it into row Z or hit the corner flag once he flies past them. or be nice to see someone just 'politely' introduce themselves straight off and hope he cries off ...

Sorry I didn't realise someone had said he was the new Reaney. I agree he's not as good as Paul Reaney.

Definitely hear some funny opinions about this season's left back. Plenty have said, not just on here, that McCartney is shite, someone even said they would prefer Andy Hughes at left-back, plenty still believe Ady White should be there whilst most posts I've read have been apparently desperate to get Parker back. Personally, I think he's been overrated but is still our best left-back, McCartney has got better but we had to wait. Better going forward than actual defending. Not a lot any one of them could have done against Walcott, imho.

McCartney did take a while to get going, but towards the end of his run that position wasn't seen as a major problem anymore - which is an achievement by itself.

I'm not sure he could have dealt with Wallcott, not many can and thank fuck Wallcott has no football brain, but Parker was overrun before Wallcott came on and he lacks pace and can't turn. Maybe they are both temporary phenomenon while he gets back to full fitness, but... if we play him its 5 at the back and the midfielder needs to cover as well. I don't think Parker is the answer - hope I'm wrong and he doesn't go the way of White who got destroyed against Saints last season playing fullback after which it seems to have cost him dearly as no more blowjobs off god and he's out.

I'm hoping Parker is just still recovering full fitness. When I've seen him in the past he's look athletic and agile but I've not seen him as much as most on here. He's been vercitile enough to turn out for us at center back and fullback and apparently he started off as a mid fielder. As for not coping with Walcotts pace, well there's a long list in that regard isn't there.

I'd like to think that he can reproduce the sort of form that brought the play off goal against Millwall two seasons back. Definitely for me McCartney looked classy going forward, Parker reminds me more of the style of Paul Connolly which isn't a criticism.
