Cricket

Cooley

Reggie_Perrin Imagine the beer’s a bit pricey as well.
Enjoy your day. It’ll be great, I’m sure. And wear a hat!

Reggie_Perrin

Cooley it's a corporate jolly mate. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Placid

Reggie_Perrin Paper cups last Thursday.

Tolley

Reggie_Perrin My daughter reckoned it was £6.50 a pint, but that might have been for the self-serve vending machines dispensing "premium" branded beers. Didn't stop the young lads around us throwing it down their throats as part of a drinking game. They would point at someone, stand up, and start singing a song about Johnny Bairstow, and the pointee was expected to down their pint in one. It was an expensive evening for some people.

Cooley

Right then, for those of us who love a bit of cricket, who’s going to win the Ashes? Score predictions….

Reggie_Perrin

Cooley Aussies but Stokes et al will give it a go. Lot of pressure on Moeen Ali. Lovely player to watch in test match but has to be rusty.

JB to shine too hopefully.

Anchor

Cooley We're gonna fucking tonk the convicts. They won't cope.

Placid

Aussie win I fear..

Bazball gonna come unstuck

Cooley

Reggie_Perrin Enjoy the cricket today, young Reg. But remember: plenty of fluids and wear a hat if you’re in the sun. A poorly Reg is a poorly OMJ.

Reggie_Perrin

Cooley chinos to avoid sunburned legs, long sleeved cotton shirt and this titfer.....

Reggie_Perrin

Cooley

Reggie_Perrin very Charles Dance. Excellent. 👏👏👏

Placid

Reggie_Perrin off to Edgbaston next Friday.

You lucky get… have a great day Reg.

I absolutely LOVE test cricket

Reggie_Perrin

Placid aye, not a bad way to spend a Friday mate. Hope we bat and out 300 on for less than 5 wickets.

CharlieG

Bowling will be key to both sides. I feel that the Aussies have an edge ( no pun intended) there.

Anchor

Fucking hell. Listening on TMS. The noise when Crawley smoked that first ball. Aggers and Tuffnel gave up commentating.

Enjoy Reg.

CBIT

Normal services resumed - we'll be all out for less than 250 and they'll score 600+

Anchor

CBIT Keep your reverse psychology up marra. It's working a treat.

YoungParisian_inExile

Tuffnel ... all time cricket hero. Not surprising given I loved bowling, average (read bobbins) fielder, hid at mid on / third man... and always the target for revenge bouncers so chose to bat 11 ...with the odd surprise 🙃

Thankfully a move to London is looking less likely than a move to sunny Brighton & Hove so hopefully can re-connect with cricket @ Sussex.

fulmine

YoungParisian_inExile Cricket at Sussex is great. Deckchairs, pints of Harveys, just a shame they’re all Brighton fans. Scum. Subhuman scum.

Cooley

Cracking day’s entertainment that.

Placid

Cooley Cracking day’s entertainment that.

Theres not much better than the ashes.. its ace

Bod

I've never understood cricket or the appeal of it, throw it in the bin with rugby and golf for me. But why did England declare ? Surely the point of the game is to get the most runs, so why didn't they carry on

Cooley

Bod ….long, hot day. Stick the Aussies in for the last half hour in the hope of getting a wicket or two, particularly their dangerous opening batsman, David Warner, off the bowling of Stuart Broad (the latter has had great success in prior test matches of taking the former’s wicket).
Hope this helps.
