Agree with that. A common call from comics at the moment is "it's the satirist I feel sorry for". I think less and less people live in the space where firstly satire was funny and secondly, understand it for what it is. Most politicians are way beyond satire and it can also seem like pseudo intelectual sneering even if it's well aimed.
Comedians who hit them straight between the eyes are more to my taste. Steele, Boyle, Thomas, Burr, Jeffries, Hughes......
