In recent years I’ve been on a discovery of all things Krautrock and boring everyone on here no doubt. Kraftwerk was my only exposure to German music and Nena of 99 Red Balloons. Kraftwerk of the 80’s - Tour de France, Model etc..

Wasnt till I heard Can that I was lead on a voyage of musical discovery that lead all over. So much so its inspired me an Oddjob to put films on about it and discuss other possibilities.

But mostly its just great discovering all this new (to me) music that is isoteric, funky, etheral, droney, electronic, polyrhymatic, tribal and everything in between. The 60’s and 70’s german musicians growing up in back drop of the 2nd WW, Schlager music, inspired by counter culture and mind enhancing stimulants are the architects of a massively wide cannon of new sounds.

This is an appreciation of ground breaking music that when you listen to music since, just appears to pop up in all sorts of unexpected places.

The Motorik drumming and kraut sounds is everywhere : Detroit Techno, Chicago House, Punk, New Wave, Hip Hop, Rave, Britpop, New Americana, Harvest’s lads school....
