I'm starting a thread about the lads, because there's lots of splinter threads on here, but no main dumping ground.

A PLAGUE ON BOTH YOUR HOUSES...

And the reason I am doing this, is because this weekend, I was at my wife's bosses wedding. It was at Eyam Hall in Derbyshire - cool place. We stayed in Baslow for the weekend, and went into Bakewell on the Friday, both highly recommended. Eyam is the place where the plague started, hence the title, but I digress.

Sat next to my wife, at the wedding dinner, (who naturally was opposite me), was this little white haired fella, wearing a polka dot blazer, with a badge stating 'Imagine Peace' on his lapel. He was my wife's bosses English teacher, and his wife who sat on my right, was his Drama teacher. They must have been some teachers to get invited to a wedding forty or so years later. I asked him where he got the badge from, and he said "Yoko gave me it, after she interviewed me'.

I'm going to add to this later, when I've done a brain dump of all the things we chatted about, but he is the guide at 'Mendips' on Menlove Avenue (Lennon's childhood home; Mimi's place). His wife (up until 2020), was the guide at Macca's House on Forthlin Road. He is Colin Hall and she is Sylvia Hall. She has a play about John's Mother Julia, called Julia's Song, out in September in Liverpool. There's bidding for the screen rights going on now.

They both live four doors down from Mimi's house and are extremely close friends with 'Whispering' Bob Harris.

The musical top-table they have had around the piano in their own front room, following tours of John and Paul's childhood homes, was both fascinating and jaw dropping to hear. I'm including the former Zimmerman here...
