I missed the whole whirlwind when this came out.

As short as their time was.

Shrouded in mystery, self managed media and a big sound.

I think this is mint. One album and out. That takes some balls given how fucking hard it is these days to release anything at all of any worth.

Recorded in the church in Ancoats before it was renovated, the whole album is awash with reverb. Tons of space everywhere.

Cocteau Twins nonsensical ramblings, bizarre song titles and a fair bit of magic.

Each year that goes by everyone amazes me on here given how much music you all find, gigs you attend, new things to explore sonically. Everyone impresses constantly.

I'm going backwards. I am also going deaf. I stopped going to gigs which was pretty much my life for 20 years and then I live with tinnitus which is eating away at frequencies I really need to retain for as long as possible.

I've been told I'll die deaf - or extremely close to it. It just depends how early that will be.

So I don't go searching for stuff in the same way anymore. This limits how I find things - 80% from here really. I've been nudged towards playlists in Spotify that I have avoided for years.

Anyway. This all means I'm not hip anymore to the new sounds, Daddio.

So every now and again, I'm genuinely moved by an album. And when that happens, I go deep. I still listen to this regularly.

I'm convinced of its absolute genius.

I'm trying to stay true to the early point of this process. I get some of your have thrown in wildcards, hidden gems etc.

I really think everyone should hear this. It's a debut album. Christ, it's good.
