Under Trav’s rec Went to the Tibetan food place before Turin Breaks last night. Thought it would be hipster driven but was run by a lovely Tibetan man and woman. Was a bit shabby but clean tidy and very charming. They’ve got a place in Chorlton as well.

it was a bit like a canteen with the food in metal hot boxes with lids on.
The food was to select 3 warm options from 5 meat or veg choices. This comes with basmati rice and free water. We also ordered some momos which are much like dim sum steamed buns. Again meat or veg options served with a chilli sauce.

Veg choices were spinach & chickpea curry, Yellow Lentil Dhal, Battered Cauli with Peppers, Sweet potato curry

Meat choices : Battered chicken with peppers, curried mutton, stir fry beef with spring onions, stir fry pork with celery. I had Cauli, Mutton and beef. The boss had: Sweet potato, Cauli and Spinach & Chickpea.

We had 3 of each momos.

Was a massive feed for the princely sum of £20 quid.

Not surprisingly the food was an exact mix of indian and chinese. But not the geleatinous minging chinese take away kind. Ive not been to Tibet yet so cannot comment on its authenticity but felt it somehow.

The folks that work there were extemely friendly and helpful and the food was well tasty. Would defo go again.
