Long time since LSC book came out, some decent tales but some from a galaxy far far away.
So shortly my book published 42 years since started really, stories are ones I was in or others with me, It's taken so long as career, kids etc, have some podcasts coming up soon for YouTube with UK casuals and Chelsea blues
All the wannabee Top Boys have done a book though there's only a handful that belong in the Non-Fiction section.
The Clobber, Trainers, music and gigs, Home and Away days, The scams, taking the pi** out of the Old Bill,
Blackpool B/holidays Camaraderie,
Other Firms we met, mentions lads from all over not many lived in town centre.
It's a factual account without anyone taking credit for being Top Boy at Leeds we didn't have a top boy they were just all top lads. I've paused at the moment but should be out soon
The lads have given me a few titles I could use, and there will never be another book like it as Leeds had/have the only proper football hooligan Casual/ dresser. If you were around in the 80s, if you weren't it gives you an Authentic story of Leeds Service Crew and the VYT..As for Big E.C he wouldn't be interested in writing a book but he definitely gets mentioned in my book. I know everyone I knows thinks it but not seen it commented on so I'll say it E.K. Well done for getting a book done, however
"Never in a Million years was He Leader of VYT or The Service Crew".
Anyone with any kudos ain't gonna name themselves as a Top Boy as lads knew who it was or which Firm had a handy bunch of lads. Any one with any old pics from Leeds on Tour could help. I've enough stories to fill about 5 books with all the antics we got upto but anyone who has a tale no matter how small, Cleethorpes away, Oldham Away etc can find room to pop it in.
So whether you were around or not back in the day it's common knowledge still 40+ years on that Leeds had the only Female Football Hooligan.
Known by all the teams.
As most Original Casuals / Dressers would be aged around 53 - 60+
Lots of youngsters coming through now makes it easier to get attire from back in the day.
We had 5 /6 shops up and down the country to buy clothes now anyone can buy online with PayPal etc. Trust me wearing a Stone Island jacket doesn't make you one of the lads, It's will you stand, have it away on your toes ? or some not even interested in Football just like the clothes. They were our New clothes in the 80s now they are Vintage or Retro.
Some have said they're not a Casual anymore they've grown out of it wtf..Once a Casual always a Casual.
The only difference in my book is the lack of swearing / profanity in it, as I wasn't known for swearing I preferred a left hook.
If you are a youngster and think it's a fairy story and all that we done without a mobile phone. I still wear all the gear as do lots of mates who still go to the games.
Just a fact..Mods, Rockers, Teddy
Boys, Beatlemania, Bay City Rollers, Skin heads, Ska Lads, Norther Soul lads, punks, shirts and scarves all worn as things changed over the years. The Caual Culture they said was a phase they said 40+ years later it's still costing me a fortune.
Having to edit style and Casual gear into girly outfits when daughter visits as she say "Why do you have to dress like a Football Hooligan"...
My answer in my head "That's what I am",
Reply to her as "I don't want to go into Zara and buy the same shirt and skirt as 50 other Women have bought today to wear that day and out of fashion a few weeks after.
On a final note. This is the only thing that Women have not tried to take over.
So as I'm female I believe in equal opps, pay etc, Chivalry, good manners etc.
So female Football pundits/ commentators on Men's Football.
F right off.Not having some whiney voiced woman rabbit on inane chat on a subject she has no clue about or played.
It needs to be stopped men are too scared to speak up and say no..as they are not seen as sexist..Its not they are under qualified.
When Alex Scott has come out of a hospital ball with Julian Dicks or a sliding tackle from Norman Hunter.
Can't can they and women a few years ago hated football now all over it. guaranteed they'll support team the latest boyfriend supports or seen a nice colour shirt that matches the nail polish.
Leave the men's game to the male pundits if you let it carry on it will end up no more going to the games with your mates then no pub to watch the game. MOTD will be replaced by rom coms and super Sunday will be round the in laws for Sunday dinners
Why do I have that opinion as I've played football since 3 always against boys then men from 13 NO women / girls played when I started
And I've watched TV and gone home and away for almost 50 years to be talked to by someone so clueless it embarrasses me.
And now women like football so If have to watch on TV why do they constantly chat inane sh*te all the way through.
Women can't bear Men to have anything that they haven't got.
So they want Equal Opps how about buying a round of drinks with your own money instead of waiting till your fella goes to the bar.
Paying for a meal out once in a while or at least offering or going Dutch.
Just because you have a boyfriend he's not your Personal Lifestyle Funder.
