weekender i've got Sunday 9th pencilled in for Pen-y-Ghent or Ingleborough. Hoping there'll still be some snow cover, the steep side of either will be a laugh if there is  but anything can happen with this weather. Whernside again.
fuzzy Great pics. Excellent work for doing it in those conditions PC! Think I'll have a dig at Skiddaw next time I'm up there. Even without snow I'd guess its a lot better than being at the top of Catbells surrounded by Japenese tourists in pumps, with brollies aloft.
ObL69 I know little but I like walking and I've got me new boots coming.. I'd be up for a two day event, yomping then bunking up in a guest house next to a smart pub, then yomping. Train there and back. What is that route?

Smutty_Lips The new boots should be okay, but might be best just doing a one day job in case the boots rub. That said in my experience I've never had blister problems from new boots - anyone else? You could get a pair of those anti-blister socks to be safe.

Doubt if it'll have the same effect on goretex or other man made wonders.

ObL69 New boots will be well broken in by the time I get them on a proper yomp.. Living out in the countryside means every day's a ramble... My only concern is whether Adidas Trekker are really meant for hiking up and down the high street? Or breakdancing?

If we can't do a 2 dayer. Always a bit difficult arranging to coincide with everyones personal circumstances. Could do a train from Leeds to Ribblehead Viaduct http://www.northernrail.org/travel/timetables/download/leeds-carlisle/33/0 then do Whernside or Ingleborough. Train back stopping off in Skipton, Shipley and anywhere else for a some free house ales.
