YoungParisian_inExile He came in when we were living there and J was woerking there. He was smart enough to see where they were making money and amplified it .
CharlieG king_of_the_slums Generally speaking, I find most of the "trainers" posted on here hilarious, grotesque, a crime against humanity or a combination thereof. Both of these don't fall into those categories. I like.
Anchor Harvest Did you notice the shoe of choice for the well heeled Italian man? Lots of Autry and lots of Diadora.
Anchor YoungParisian_inExile Where did you get the Daybreak? I regret selling mine. Always loved Montreals - do they still do the turning into sliders thing?
Anchor Couple of pairs i've had recently - essentially for athletic purposes. But think they may be used for fashion purposes.
YoungParisian_inExile The Altra x ROA is a nice shoe, but basically a tarted up and more expensive version of the Timp 5 . Altr runners are appatently notorious foir killing your achilles ...
Jon YoungParisian_inExile Comfort -wise Altras are the comfiest trainers I’ve ever worn. The Birkenstock of the trainer world. They stretch your Achilles due to the lack of drop (like Birkenstocks) and there’s a definite adjustment period. Aesthetically…
YoungParisian_inExile Would rather run in Crocs . Shoes for the 30 minute 5K , running gilet, hydration packs , gels, non ironic tash crowd . Plus they make one hell of a racket . You can hear people behind you running in them. Prefontaine though... cool as f*ck.
l.q.navarro. I remember seeing the film Prefontaine, years ago. Billy Crudup in the lead. Really enjoyed it, but I thought, why the cult hero status, as I remembered him getting well beat in the Olympics of 72. Until I looked into his exploits on + off the track. Then I got it. Same Olympics. Surprised no big fuss was made of American Dave Wottel. He won the 800 metres gold running with a flat cap on, after being tailed off at halfway 🤣. Amazing finish + race.
YoungParisian_inExile Big noise about Prefontaine in the running 'community' at the moment . Running in a flat cap ... proper 😁
YoungParisian_inExile I tested some out on a club run and didnt like them (for running) The Timp 5 and the Olympus are nice shoes
