Death List 2026

Two things I never got balls deep into, comic books and skateboarding..

Harvest

David Stewart, our keeper.

Very sad to read this. He didn`t flinch against Barcelona in `75 after being thrust into the deep end.

They don`t come much bigger than European Cup finals and he would have walked away with a winners medal, if circumstances had been different.

Got him in the death pool at work.

Some herbet on Facebook has posted "completely shocked" about Stan Lee. He was 95 FFS!!!

Comics mean a lot to some folk, not for me. Apart from Asterix, which is genius.

Always thought the Septic obsession with superhero bollocks was some sort of catharsis due to them being late for both world wars.

Richard Baker. A voice from most of our childhoods I guess

Too right, he must have been bloody old, I'd no idea he was still around until this post.

Once had dinner with him and spent a little too much time talking about Victorian and early music hall piano music. He was a genial enough old chap but we were definitely from different eras. As has been said though, a voice from your childhood. If you heard him say something, you knew it was true.

Harvest

Bit like this place.

Read somewhere that he went to live in an old peoples home, spending his final years cutting clippings from the days newspapers which he would read to the other residents at tea time.

I hope this is true.

In my minds eye he's cut the front out of a cardboard box and is wearing it over his head.

Indeed, I had a real tinge of sadness at reading that. Almost like a very small part of me died too.

Not many left. Richard Whitmore is still with us I think. I liked Peter Woods. Always thought he looked like he'd just had a large Scotch before the broadcast.

This bloke was a serious campaigner for a fairer society. His twitter feed was a light in a fucking murky, self centered and arrogant world.
