Kevin_Stapleton Just noticed that Bonetti ended up a postman on a Scottish island. As did David Harvey. Weird.
Placid Spanner! Otley lad, old Leeds from 80’s. Home and away with Mavericks for last 20 years. Sadly passed. Leaves a wife and young daughter. Massive shock, only spoke to him start of March. Top lad
Jon It’s not right is it, you he to be a footballer and a postman? Couldn’t we share the luck around a bit more evenly? Doubt I’d be over here now if I’d made it as a postie. They weren’t hiring every time I applied.
Foxy_Dread My Mrs cannot believe that I couldn't even get an interview as a lowly govt admin officer be it local or national back in the early 80s, she has no idea what it was like.
Jon Foxy_Dread I nearly posted something about Thatcher there but what’s the point? We know what we know.
Mega_Armageddon_Chickens Jon I applied to be a postie in 84. I didn't even get an interview. I was gutted. As for Bonetti and Harvey. I think it's great that they were both great keepers, represented their respective countries and then ended up postman in deepest darkest Scotland. I'd love to be a Postman in the wilds. I was too shit to be a footballer.
Cooley I was a postie about three years ago. Soon came to the conclusion that the sorting office was full of cunts and left after five days.
90Piesanhour I had an interview, didn't get offered a job. I've applied 3 times now, I assume my letter's in the post...
Kevin_Stapleton Spent a summer as a postie in 1989. South Norwood, sorting office right by Selhurst Park. Fucking early starts 6 days a week but i’d be home just after 1 most days. I think it hardly rained that summer. Started off hating it, by the end I loved it.
