Try the documentary - Dogtown and the Z Boys - i preferred that.

The documentary is great whether you were into skateboarding or not - it's a youth culture thing that burst into the mainstream from the streets . In the same way people not into football culture in the 80s appreciate WYWH. Some soundtrack as well.

Mrs DJP worked as a Make-up artist on Asylum at Highroyds and gave him and Ian McKellen a bollocking for being too picky in the catering bus, umming and arring over the delicacies on offer. He went into initial shock at the temerity of such a chastisement, but was apparently alright about it. Don't know what he was doing there anyway as he wasn't in the film itself. Freeloading cunt. Great actor though. RIP Dickie.
