He was an arrogant prick, who came from money and treated the whole thing as a joke. Never forgave him for the way he bullied Gene Clark out of The Byrds or his serious dislike of The Doors. He also had to beg Phil Collins for the money for a new liver in '94, after he'd fucked his first one up by sharing needles.
In his defence, he could hold a tune, played a mean Rickenbacker & could look good in a cape/poncho, which few men can.
