So very strange. I was reading an article about him on the train on Saturday. I didn't know it was Matt's brother.

Their dad, Eddie, is quite a character. Met him once. He used to run the Two Puddings pub in Stratford, lots of bands played there in the 1960s.

Proper one hit wonder. Great song as well.

Saw that yesterday. Exactly what crossed my mind. 94. Good innings.

Harvest

Terry Wogan.

MolOverBeethoven

Really upset by this. Paved a real path for decent Irish people.

I'll post more on this later. His contribution to Britain will be rightfully celebrated, but his contribution to the Irish in Britain cannot be calibrated. One of my heroes, and I have few.

Reggie_Perrin

I never really saw it him that way. I can see that he was, no doubt, very important in dispelling the Alan Partridge view of how the Irish were perceived at one point. Ironic really. Can't say I was a fan as he just seemed like a TV wallpaper to me but I shall have a more generous view of his legacy now.

Now Dave Allen, I liked him.

Dave Allen - legend. Terry wo-gone, no sorry - caricature of an Irishman for me. Housewives choice, part of the establishment, never saw a boat, let alone rocked it. Unless I missed something and he was a genuine subversive.

erobehterog

Totally and utterly out of his depth , just another BBC likeable jovial idiot , even david icke put him in his place https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMZtP2d2XGA watch wagons face from 7mins 25sec,s

I think he found his level with the eurovision

MolOverBeethoven

He was never a coward and hid behind a multitude of aliases to spout shite and attack people so no-one gives a damn what you think.

MolOverBeethoven

You sad, short, fat, ugly little man.

MolOverBeethoven

Sorry, that's right, we've never met. I'm mistaken and apologise. As you were.

Toronto_Ted

One man - argument - room - alone :D

Harvest

Wogan was always on in the morning when I was getting ready for school. He always seemed to play Forever in Blue Jeans or something by The Captain and Tenile.

He's your pal, everyone else thinks he's a cowardly two-faced desperately but failing aspirational cunt. You're welcome to him.

luxury_scruff

Wogan was the King of radio. Consummate professional.

Wogan would be the best everywhere.
