scootay wroteFirst day off during the week since Christmas. I've got to move house again soon so I'm boxing stuff up all day. I was supposed to have yesterday off but was too busy so changed it to today. 30 large cardboard boxes arrived Wednesday. So I reckoned I would just have a day boxing everything up while listening to 6music. I never get the chance during the day so I was actually looking forward to it guess it's my come uppence for all the things I said......but it's prince track after prince track after prince track and talking about prince in between.
I do understand how huge he was and I get that people loved him. If your into any form of music and it means a lot to you then you feel it like a loss of family or summat. It's a part of your life. I respect that of course. Plenty more musical people than me are banding the legend and genius tag around. And fair play maybe he was. He just never spoke to me or appealed to me. Even three hours in to the princeathon I've still not heard anything that I think is genius or mind blowing. I've always found him average. It's purely about those receptive nodules in your brain isn't it. It's what appeals and what doesn't. I like how prolific he was and I like how he tried to stick it to the record labels, just not a fan that's all. But much respect to his fans that's he's been a big part of their life to. And 57 makes you shudder. I've heard the rumour it could be aids related? He was a huge little shagging machine wasn't he.
Couldn't agree more. 1999, little red corvette, when doves cry, purple rain, raspberry beret, sign o' the times, alphabet street, thieves in the temple & get off? Terrance Trent D'Arby wrote & performed 3 better than or at least comparable to any of those on his 1st album imho.
If it is pneumonia, it does usually knock off people with a weakened immune system. The captain of the men of death. There's talk today of a drugs overdose.
