A nice few days cycling. Belgium takes it to another level. Cycle lanes everywhere . Excellent.

Ypres was really moving, thanks to a Scottish Military flute band.

I will deffo be going to Belgium again. Because it’s so flat the wind is a bit of a killer but apart from that ok

Apologies for not realising you were posting under a new name. I was looking through some old posts the other week and thought now there’s two guys who’d get on great. The similarities in the two names didn’t even register. Duh!

Nice. Very cool looking bikes. What tires do you use? Do you use a back pack or travel as light as the photos suggest?
Is the bottom one a Kaffenback?
I was looking at my Uncle John this morning, I reckon it could make a decent touring bike. It’s a very comfy ride.
Went out on the local mountain bike trails on it this morning. Youngest has nabbed my mountain bike. Fun hour and a half.

Been watching some of those round the world biking videos on You Tube. Doesn’t hurt to dream.

That would be ideal for touring. Bang a rack on it, ortlieb panniers. Don’t bother with others they don’t last.
The tyres I generally use are Schwalbs. The kaffenbak has marathon plus. They must be 10years old? No punctures. Bomb proof
Thinking of going to Humber estuary next, on my own though.
That’s the beauty of it. Open the front out you go.
I always stay in b&bs. 2or3 days great.
My bikes aren’t light either. Waste of time as neither am I. It has to be comfortable. That’s why my Thorn is my favourite. It does everything.

I see them round our way, guys built like prop forwards on $5000 carbon frame bikes. Don’t get me wrong, some of them are tough bastards, ride hard types but,I’m 215lbs (post covid), If I want to save a few ounces I know where to start.

I was following an account on Twitter a few years ago, bloke cycling around the Massachusetts/Vermont/New York countryside hitting farmers markets and cheese shops.

I fancy building up to something epic for my 60th. A while away yet but these things come around fast.

Placid Aye. There is a cycle highway as well. From selly oak right into the centre of town.

Can do that whole loop as a flattish gravel ride in essence. My kind of ride.
