Under-the-ground Jon got new wheels and stuff rides nice coz it’s a Dawes. Going to get a new cassette for the back. Final hope to get a hub dynamo fitted but they aren’t cheap. Currently looking for led bulbs to replace the old type
Under-the-ground Clips like this just spring to mind them documentaries on Saville and Rolf Garris & stuff. Dark times
Anchor Why on earth where they racing on a cinder 400m track! Anyway - superstars - we were privileged to have it.
CharlieG Gave the lad my old Whyte Friston gravel bike. We've put a flar bar on it so had to change the shifter and brake levers. Also fitted a front rack so that he can pop down the Leeds/Liverpool canal towpath to do the shopping in Skipton. Minimal swearing was uttered during the conversion. Surprising given that all the cables and hosing is internal to the frame.
Anchor I'm taking my push iron to Shropshire today. Not far from where I stay is a hill that is 25% It's one of the steepest in the UK. It goes from Asterton up to the top of the long mynd. I think I might give it a go.
CharlieG Anchor Think I've done that one, years ago when the brother in law lived near Ludlow. There may, still, be bits of my lungs on the side of the road....
CharlieG Jon It's, almost, 10yrs old. He pulled in a few favours when he worked for Singletrack magazine and I got it at cost.
Anchor I went up Asterton bank. Fucking hell. Basically 1k mainly in double digits with bits at 25% and 100m at 22% How the fuck do the pros do that over 10k and the like. Jesus.
